Meet Donice Bryant: A Visionary Leader for Bibb County Commissioner, District 8
I am Donice Bryant, and it is with great enthusiasm that I announce my candidacy for the Bibb County Board of Commissioners, representing District 8. As a committed, dedicated, and principled individual, I am stepping forward to offer a new perspective and effective solutions to the challenges our community faces. My campaign is built on the foundation of restoring confidence in our county government's ability to meet and exceed the needs of its citizens.
A Life Dedicated to Service and Community
Born in Perry, Georgia, and raised in Atlanta, my journey led me to excel academically, graduating with honors from Southside High School and further pursuing studies in Criminal Justice at Macon State College. Since moving to Macon in 1998, my life has been intertwined with the Bibb County community, especially through my longstanding career in law enforcement with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department since 1999. My experience spans various capacities—corrections, patrol, dispatch, and the warrant division—underscoring my versatile commitment to public safety and community engagement.
Beyond my professional roles, I am a proud mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and neighbor, deeply involved in community service. From volunteering with youth at Headstart and Parks and Recreation to serving as a houseparent at an all-girls group home and volunteering at the Salvation Army, my dedication to fostering a supportive environment for our youth and families is unwavering.
A Vision for Bibb County
My platform is rooted in my desire to leverage my extensive experience in community development, law enforcement, and public service to address the pressing issues facing our district:
- Economic Development: I am committed to working closely with businesses, both small and large, to create job opportunities for our youth and citizens, thereby enhancing our local economy and tax revenue.
-Public Safety: Ensuring the safety of our communities is paramount. I will support our police and firefighters to maintain peace and security across all neighborhoods.
- Infrastructure Improvement: A key focus will be on repairing roads and enhancing neighborhood safety through the strategic placement of surveillance cameras.
- Revitalization of Abandoned Properties: Addressing the issue of vacant buildings within District 8 to foster community development and utilization of space.
My mission is to return to the core values of caring for and supporting our citizens—the very individuals who have built and maintained the strength of Macon. I believe in the power of doing good for our community, knowing that such efforts will bring about positive returns for us all.
As we face challenges related to land use, budget management, economic growth, and creating a safe, thriving environment for our youth, my goal is to be at the forefront, leading with integrity, passion, and a commitment to making a tangible difference.
